The marketing system of the agricultural crops could be classified into three categories:
- cooperative marketing system
- contract system
- free marketing system.
The first system is carried out by the agricultural co-operatives, which are specialized in solving the financing and marketing problems facing the producers/farmers.The co-operatives pay the producers profitable prices. Co-operatives participate in marketing crops through their various distribution units and decreasing the marketing costs of the produce.
The second system exists for barley (between the producer and the brewery), sugar cane and food processing industry, but not for other seed crops.
The third system depends on the demand and supply sides in determining the farm prices. In Egypt, most of faba beans are market through this system.
